Welcome to Loreburn Camera Club!

Who we are
We are a small group of enthusiastic photographers who meet to enhance our enjoyment of photography.  Our skills range from beginner to professional.  Above all, we are happy to share our skills, our ideas and our enthusiasm with others.

Where / when we meet
Between September and April most of our meetings take place on Monday evenings in the Activity Resource Centre (ARC) in Burns Street, Dumfries from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.  For a map, click here.  During the summer months we often go out shooting on location.

What we do
Please view our Syllabus for details of our planned meetings.  Don't be put off by the thought that your work is not of a standard to enter our competitions.  Our members have very varied levels of ability and the object is not so much to try to win as to invite an independent judge to comment constructively on the work you submit.  Members find that the competitions drive them to improve the standard of their work so that over the course of a year or two they come on in leaps and bounds.

We take special care to help members learn more about photography.

Lottery Funding
During 2011 we successfully applied to Awards For All for Lottery Funding.  We were awarded some £2,000 to enable the purchase of a laptop, a digital projector, Adobe Photoshop CS5 and ancillary items.  These are already helping us to extend our training activities.

We look forward to welcoming you in person
